Blauw Research successfully extends ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certification
We are pleased to announce that we have once again been ISO 27001 (Information Security) and ISO 27701 (Privacy) certified for three years. In 2016, Blauw was one of the first agencies to be officially ISO 27001 certified, and in 2021 we were the only agency with ISO 27701 certification to process personal data demonstrably in accordance with the AVG.
We process large amounts of important information on a daily basis for various clients. This information, particularly in the case of personal data, must be treated in a highly confidential and secure manner. The ISO 27001 standard describes how to deal with securing information in a process-oriented manner, with the objective of ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of information within an organisation. The ISO 27701 certification adds to this a series of measures and procedures with which Blauw demonstrates that it handles personal data with extreme care. This concerns both the privacy of respondents in our researches for clients and the personal data we process about our employees, job applicants, website visitors and clients.
Clients ask for a certified agency, and in procurement projects this is also increasingly a hard requirement. Ivo Langbroek, Research Director of Blauw Research, explains:
"For Blauw, extending these ISO certifications was confirmation of the high level of security we offer. We notice this, for example, in the recently won tenders for the central government. With our ISO certificates, we already largely meet the strict requirements set by the central government in the Government Information Security Baseline (BIO). I also noticed during the audit that the auditors of Stichting Toetsingsbureau KCC really had to do their best to 'still find something'. And I am incredibly proud when I see how quickly and easily our security officers and data protection officer answer the questions asked. As far as I am concerned, it shows that we have entered the next phase of maturity, where an ISO certification is no longer a thick piece of paper, but a working system that has penetrated the capillaries of our agency."
